Well these three finches were certainly spread over Australia and photographed over a span of 4years of traveling and camping holidays.

I’m loving the thin brush with the really long bristles for painting long smooth strokes found in grass and twigs.

The bower bird builds its nest out of twigs and collects anything it can find that has shades of blue.

The red backed wren was photographed at Australia Zoo last year when I was walking around Bindi Island.

The koalas fur starts off like a squirrel and seem to change further down the body and almost become more like the wool of a sheep.

Watching the bushfire concert and deciding to paint a burnt tree stump gave me the idea to name this painting the Bushfire Galah.

This beautiful specimen of a bird was perched on the branch looking rather fluffy having just had a bath in the nearby creek.

The Pademelons face started looking like a fox, I was about ready to give up

Sorry, had to pause for a spider walking across my laptop, blogging outdoors certainly has its drawbacks that’s for sure.

The one guy I liked was a single penguin stood on the side of the pool, who looked like he was in a daydream of far off lands.

My Aunt was visiting so we decide to have a look for turtle tracks on the beach. We soon found plenty of tracks on the beach from the night before, so we knew it was a successful hatching night.

Just after I photographed this wombat at Australia Zoo, he came racing down the hill to a gate. I thought he was going to be fed by his speed, to my surprise he was going for a walk, so I managed to get a much closer encounter than I was expecting.

While I was camping at Biloela, I was busily setting up my swag tent and hammering in the tent pegs, when I spotted some movement in the field next to me.

I’ve been wanting to paint a cassowary for a while now, but sticking to my rule of only painting from my own photographs, this was a little difficult.

I must have followed this guy around the creek for a good 10mins trying to get some nice shots.

I could not believe how colourful the rainbow bee-eater was, I was mesmerised by it darting around me.

Back in August 2015 I traveled to Canada with my sister for 3 weeks. We had just hiked to the top of a hill and were looking back down to Lake Louise at the Fairmont resort

Yes I love my birds and I remember watching them in our back yard as a kid, when I used to live in England.

Corella dam was full of wildlife and I must have photographed around 20 different types of birds in that two weeks I camped there.

This little bird I found flying around my campsite and hopping from post to post catching little bugs. I’ve now painted a Red Robin from the UK and this time on the other side of the world the Australian Yellow Robin.
