I have visited Cradle Mountain, Tasmania a few times as I love hiking, and I have always wanted to do the Overland Track.
Skagway had some amazing buildings, and I could have happily spent hours taking photos and sketching all day.
Just as I was taking my artworks down I could hear someone calling my name, I automatically thought oh bugger what have I done.
I was originally going to sketch this in charcoal from the same burnt tree I was photographing but totally forgot as I have a memory like a goldfish.
About two weeks after the bush fires, I went to the state forest to see what the damage was like and see if I could find some tree stumps to sketch
I have been photographing tree and stumps for years and since February I’ve been addicted to sketching them.
