In February 2023 we had a rather large bush fire come within 4km of Possum Park and it was a very scary time with constant worry for over a week. As I write this blog its October and start of bushfire season again and there is lots of fires around.
About two weeks after the bush fires, I went to the state forest to see what the damage was like and see if I could find some tree stumps to sketch as this was my new sketching subject.
See what’s in my sketching journal post for more tree sketches.

With my ink sketches, I don’t use pencil as a safety net. I just dive in with ink, mistakes and all.
