Camino Marker Roncesvalles

The Story Behind the Urban Sketching

In 2014 I walked the Camino with my mother and I didn’t bother with guidebooks I just had a graph with a few major towns marked on it. These are the Camino markers we followed along the way, this one leading down to Roncesvalles. Shortly after this photo, mum slipped on the loose gravel and almost broke her wrist and four mountain bike riders came passed us and three of them also fell over.

I just love this maker because its and older one and very weathered with bits missing and I feel has more character to it.
