I have often driven passed both of these trucks just outside of Chinchilla and since I sketched one I thought I should sketch the other.
The other aspect of painting old trucks and tractors is the blokes that visiting my gallery with their significant others are now more engaging than when I only a collection of animals and landscapes to view.
The neighbour has a stunning collection of cars and the more junk and disorder the better for me as an artist to sketch.
This blitz crane was a bit of a perspective challenge because of the bent parts of metal and the circular wire resting against the bodywork.
Some trucks just seem to scream out, “sketch me”, and I’m also glad this truck hadn’t moved in the two months between visits as my first photo of it wasn’t very good.
A very beat up vehicle that has probably worked very hard in it’s life and now having a good earned rest.
