I came across this little guy perched on a branch looking a bit bedraggled after a bath and knew it would make a good painting.

I also love how the car’s colour is almost an identical match to the sky and the interior colours match the distant hills.

This fishing boat reminds me of when I used to live at Filey on the North Yorkshire coast as a kid.

Bunker 17 is one of 20 WWII ammunition’s bunkers, 3 of them have been turned into unique accommodation.

Bird’s Hut looks abandoned but apparently has artist staying there to work off grid for a while.

This blitz crane was a bit of a perspective challenge because of the bent parts of metal and the circular wire resting against the bodywork.

Anyway I thought I would give digital art a go since I had lots of Telstra points and this enabled me to get an Apple Pencil 2nd

This was fun to sketch apart from two other machines around it the same colour made it hard to distinguish the crawlers parts.

This crawler is so different in shape, size, and colour to anything else in the shed and was begging to be drawn.

An old pickup with a crane and a fair bit of junk. It’s just knowing what to leave in and what to take out to make an interesting painting.

Some trucks just seem to scream out, “sketch me”, and I’m also glad this truck hadn’t moved in the two months between visits as my first photo of it wasn’t very good.

I love the tractors with headlights it always seem to give them some kind of character.

A very beat up vehicle that has probably worked very hard in it’s life and now having a good earned rest.

This poor little tractor seems to have totally given up and sunk into the mud.

One day I was gardening and felt light I was being watched, and looked around and couldn’t see anyone

While I was in Lightning Ridge I managed to drive around some of the old mines and photograph a dozen or so old cars that seemed interesting.

About half a km from the main camp site there was a local dumping area for bits of concrete and metal including about 5 old cars which have been a good source to paint from.

I was out at Waruma Dam camping when the world turned in on itself and covid happened.

Reading the information board I can’t believe they spent 100,000 Pounds restoring the chalk tower in 1996 and it still looks like its about to fall down.

The blitz truck was just outside the Old Laura homestead, Lakefield northern Queensland when I went for my road trip to the Tip of Australia back in 2019.

If you ever visit London I would recommend doing the studio tour. It was just unreal to be walking among all the props and giant sets.
