I have been promising my Aunt Anne a painting of Filey now for a little while but wasn’t quite sure what to paint her and then it came to me.
I was camping at Possum Park, just outside Miles, Queensland for a few nights and the owner fell in love with my art works and couldn’t wait to show me what she had in her converted train carriages.
The painting that almost broke me…

So revisiting Filey beach, North Yorkshire England for a second time this week. I must have walked this beach hundreds of times as a kid and made lots of sandcastle, trenches on the beach
Iv’e always wanted to paint some scenery form my home town, but never seemed to get around too it. A week of Christmas themes and a gift all changed that.
Just as Pete and Cynthia were getting their boat ready for a day of fishing and red clawing at Wuruma Dam boat ramp a pelican came by looking for food.
I must say that this is one of my favourite places in the mountains, and without the crowds like at Lincoln’s Rock. I accidentally found it while checking out the aerial maps to find a good spot to watch the sun set.
I awoke to morning dew on my tent and as I stepped outside under foot and between my toes I could feel the wetness. Mist was floating past my face and being caught in spiderwebs, backlit by golden light of the rising sun.
In September 2020 I visited the Cairns Aquarium so I could photograph some of the larger and more dangerous marine life with getting wet.
Well this is a different kind of a story as I’ve broken my own rules about only using my own photographs. I saw a sea urchin in seaweed on a friends instagram account (Charlottegannet).
I was staying at Mission Beach in tropical north Queensland and I was told about a day trip to Dunk Island, so armed with $40 I boarded the ferry and left the mainland behind me.
