This is yet another gem from my 2024 escapade through Alaska and Canada! I had a blast painting those growler icebergs, which might as well be the divas of the Arctic, and decided my next masterpiece needed to be fancier. So, I cranked up the detail and added extra drips to the iceberg—because who doesn’t love a little iceberg drool, right? To top it off, I threw in some curious otters, giving their best “What is that floating buffet?” look as the cruise ship casually glided by.

Initial sketch.

Stage 1.
I love this stage because the iceberg looks so wrong just floating in space and not sitting on the water without the reflection.

My paintings are based on my travel experiences. Through this blog, you can discover The Story Behind the Painting, including where and when I captured these wildlife moments, old rustic cars from historical villages, and beautiful seascapes from faraway places.
