While on a gold panning and salmon bake tour I came across an American Crow on a low branch. Been a bird lover, I’m happy to see any new birds, even common ones to the region. This one had some wonderful blue black colourings and a nice sheen to its feathers.
I must have painted this background about four times before I was happy with it. I was after nice, soft tones that blended together well with contrast around the head of the crow.
This little waterfall (Salmon Falls) was something special and I’m sure I’m going to paint it at some stage too. This waterfall landscape has nice depth and an interesting foreground. Some discarded machinery parts from an old mine entrance about 20m away.
