A few years ago I went on the rocky mountaineer train with my sister and the final stop was Jasper. A picturesque little mountain town where I saw my first wild bear.
Nine years later I took mum on holiday and I was so glad that we got to visit Jasper again and the rocky mountaineer train made an appearance. This time the weather was much kinder to us.
As I was walking back to the hotel after dinner we came across this beautiful little church with a magnificent backdrop of snow capped mountains. I knew this would be a sketch when I got back home.
Unfortunately I week after we got back home a large percentage of jasper burnt to the ground in wildfires including the restaurant we had dinner at. From the reports I think this particular church survived but another one was not so lucky.
