While visiting friends in NSW for Christmas I went hiking in the Blue Mountains where I used to live. I came across this nice little flower with a spider on it, unfortunately not many people like spiders. So when I decided to painting the flower I added a much more acceptable subject a bee. The bee was photographed on one of the flowers in my garden, hopefully I got the scale right once I sketched them both together.

My painting come from my own experiences that I have photographed while traveling. By reading this blog, you as a viewer can now hear The Story Behind the Painting. Where, when, what was happening while I was photographing the wildlife.
