Back in March this year 2023 we had a cycling group with a few normal mountain bikes and a lot of e-bikes. They stayed at Possum Park for a week and would take off each day on a different cycling adventure. I manage to take them around Possum Park and a few of the dirt roads and down to the disused railway on one of there off days.
They also had a support guy on a road bike that would go with them incase of any problems. On the second last day I got talking to the support guy and he wanted me to sketch his bike, and this is the result.

Initial Pencil sketch.

Adding waterproof Ink over the pencil so this will not bleed during the watercolour stage.
As you can see I got the bike a little long and had to reduce the shape of the panniers.

Watercolour added loosely just for some basic colour.

Tombo brush pens added for toning and shadows.

Drawing in all the fine details in ink and a few white highlights in gouache.

Final framed artwork.
I use Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolour on Arches France Watercolour Paper, 300g Hot Pressed or Fabriano Artistico Watercolour Paper 300g Hot Pressed..
Tombo Brush Pens N15, N45, N55, N60, N65, N95 and Faber Castell Fine-liners 0.05, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7
My painting come from my own experiences that I have photographed while traveling. By reading this blog, you as a viewer can now hear The Story Behind the Painting. Where, when, what was happening while I was photographing the wildlife.
