One & Two Point Perspective

This is a four hour workshops split into two hours of one point perspective and two hours of two point perspective

One Point Perspective (2hrs)

The first workshop focuses on the basics of one-point perspective as applied to rural and suburban landscapes. It is designed for those who struggle with placing buildings and objects within a street or landscape, making it a suitable course for beginners.

You will be given a few examples of one point perspective in photos and where practical outside or in the classroom.

You will cover buildings and people in a streetscape, parallel train lines and track in a rural setting and fence posts and 3D objects in space.

Skills you have learned

After you have learned how to identify horizon lines, vanishing point and perspective lines on photos and objects in the classroom. You will be given a few exercise to sketch them on paper.

This is not a technical drawing class with rulers. It will still be loose sketching with the aid of string and edge of paper as a guide.

The course will be follow by example, Osborne will explain each technique while sketching in pencil & ink.

Two Point Perspective (2hrs)

The second workshop you will learn the fundamentals of two-point perspective in rural landscapes. This course is ideal for those seeking to improve their sketching skills, especially in understanding spatial elements like placing objects correctly in a scene. Participants will explore examples of two-point perspective, identify vanishing points on the horizon, and learn how to proportionately depict people within their sketches, ensuring a more realistic depiction of depth in landscapes.
