Oil Paintings

Chris Osborne has only created a few oil paintings before he sold his house and quit his job for a life of adventure in 2017. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a transformative journey where he sought not just new experiences, but a deeper connection with his artistic passions. It was during his travels that he discovered gouache, a much more compact medium. Additionally, he loved how much detail could be achieved with much finer brushes, enabling him to delve into intricate textures and subtleties that oil paints often did not permit in such unfettered environments. This newfound appreciation for gouache not only changed his approach to art but also enriched his travels, as each painting became a cherished memory of the sights and inspirations he encountered along the way.

In 2023, he started painting in acrylic so he could work on larger paintings while still creating the detailed artworks he is known for. He is using this as a stepping stone back into oil paint in the coming years.
