Gouache Black Label

You’re invited to paint with Chris Osborne in this 4 hour introduction to gouache workshop. Where you will be guided through the use of flat, round, angled and rigger brushes. Each brush has many uses and you will be shown when to use each one.

Each student will receive a welcome pack with Canson Mi-Teintes touch paper, tracing paper, detailed instructional handouts, fridge magnet and a few more items.

This is an excellent introduction workshop for people that have not used gouache paint before.

You will be shown both wet and dry brush techniques and follow along with a few painting exercises to get used to working with black paper.

Learning about tone is an excellent skill to have and these exercises will be invaluable for all kinds of artwork whether it be watercolour, acrylic or pencil sketches.

Skills you have learned

After you have learned how to use your brushes with gouache, you will then create a painting using these new skills. The aim is to bring a black piece of paper to life and create an image out of the darkness and into the light with only a limited gouache palette.

The course will be follow by example, Osborne will explain each technique while sketching and painting. This will be viewed live on a tv or projected onto a wall if available.
